My name is Elizabeth E. Eliadis, and I’m excited to share the story behind Elizabeth 3E Photography! Born into an amazing family in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, I was raised to value kindness, love, and generosity. Now living in Orland Park, IL, with my husband and two children, my passion for photographing moments of joy and gratitude has truly blossomed.
After graduating from Marquette University and earning a master's degree in social work from UIC, I spent 18 years as a pediatric medical social worker at an inner-city hospital, working to bring comfort to those in need. Through all the pain and hardship families faced, I witnessed laughter, resilience, and the inner light of so many families. In 2018, I stepped away from social work to focus on raising my children and teaching preschool. Watching kids grow and develop a love for learning, discovery, and wonder is a most rewarding experience. It capturing the joy of my children or my students with a photography was always second nature to me.
I have always loved the emotion a photograph can bring. Capturing my children growing up, either with an old point-and-shoot or later an iPhone, I was that mom that was always trying to preserve those memories in my mind and heart through photography. I also loved capturing "meditative photos" on my nature hikes-- the light streaming though the tree leaves; a pure white mushroom growing on the forest floor; or a crocus blooming as the first sign of spring.
When my kids started playing competitive sports, that I when I picked up a hand-me down DSLR Nikon and tried to capture the action of the game. I always thought: "if I knew what all of these buttons did, maybe I could take better sports action photos.
That's when I started taking classes at Chicago Photography School . It was there that I learned how to on bring more emotion to life in a picture through composition, color, depth of field, editing, and the other foundations of photography.
Life can be tough and exhausting, but within those challenges lies beauty, strength, laughter, perseverance, silliness, relief, excitement, and smiles. Capturing these moments has helped me through difficult times, and I would love to do the same for you.
Life may not be "picture perfect," but JOY in a photograph can remind us of all the beauty that exists in the world.
